Graduate Student Welcome Ceremony

All new, incoming graduate and professional students and their families are cordially invited to attend Graduate Welcome events on Thursday, August 22, 2019.
The day will feature several events for new students, including a student services fair, a formal welcome ceremony featuring special speakers and university administrators, and a welcome reception where new students can mingle and network. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend to welcome the new students.
Please RSVP here by August 17 so that we can better estimate attendance in preparation for these events.

The Graduate Services Fair and Reception will feature departments and offices from across the university. Attending the fair will allow student to learn about services and opportunities available to graduate students at The George Washington University. Refreshments will be provided and new students are encouraged to mingle and network with new classmates.

The Graduate Student Welcome Ceremony is the formal welcome to GW for all new graduate students. The ceremony will feature speakers from the administration and current graduate students. All new students will receive the special GW lapel pin that marks their entry into the GW community.
2019 Speakers Include:

2019 Graduate Student Speaker Application

The Graduate Welcome ceremony is an opportunity for all new graduate students to meet each other and begin their GW journey. The program will include two returning graduate student speakers to welcome new students. These speakers provide insights and advice to the new class. Student interested in applying to be a speaker for the 2019 ceremony should apply here. The application will open Monday, June 3 and close Monday, June 24 at 5 pm.
