Next Stop, GW!
Congratulations and welcome to the GW family!
It's official! You are now a part of the George Washington University community, and we cannot wait to welcome you to campus in August.
By now you know how special the GW community is, and it's true! By choosing GW as the "Next Stop" on your life's journey, you are beginning an adventure that more than 300,000 distinguished alumni from over 150 countries have taken before you.
As you wrap up your academic year, complete final papers and exams, and assemble for end-of-year celebrations, we—the Orientation, Class Year, and Families Programs (OCYFP) team—will be your guides as you prepare for your college transition.
Our roles are to help orient, connect, and support you and your family through this experience. You'll also hear from an Orientation Leader (OL) this summer who you'll connect with throughout New Student Orientation (NSO) in August. These current students are excited to provide support and guidance at Orientation and beyond as you find your belonging on campus. NSO will officially kick off on August 18 and will run through August 21. Families and supporters are invited to join us for New Families Orientation on August 18 as well. More information to come as we move through the summer!
We'll be in your inbox again soon, but in the meantime, if you have any questions, please reach out to us at [email protected]. We truly cannot wait to welcome you to our community in a few short months!

What's Next in Your Journey to GW?
The Next Stop, GW! (NSGW) newsletter is how our team will communicate with you throughout the summer. You'll learn more about campus resources and services and start getting to know the humans behind them! Through NSGW, we'll send reminders to complete your New Student Checklist items, important dates and deadlines, and we'll highlight some offices across campus. Be sure to claim your GW identity and check your email regularly for this biweekly newsletter, along with important updates from other offices on campus.
The Buff & Blue Book
We cannot wait for you to engage with the Buff and Blue Book (to be published soon)! This is an online resource with information you'll need this summer through your first day of classes. We've included campus resources and services, deadlines from the New Student Checklist (like Orientation and class registration), and GW jargon and phrases so you can talk like a GW Rev from day one!
New Student Checklist
The New Student Checklist (found in your admitted student portal) is a guide of important to-do items to complete prior to joining us on campus in August for New Student Orientation (NSO). From registering your GW email account and completing pre-orientation online modules to submitting mandatory immunization forms and exploring student health insurance options, the New Student Checklist is the best way to keep track of everything you'll need to complete this summer.
