Discover Your Community

The transition to being a college student can be challenging - you're navigating new academic, personal, and extracurricular spaces. There is support for you in offices and people across campuses. New first-year students have opportunities to participate in pre-orientation experiences ranging from outdoor education to leadership workshops, to engage in Orientation programming designed to support you and your families' transition to the campus and city, and to get involved in events planned throughout the first year aimed at getting students engaged with the DC community. Take advantage of the opportunities in your first year and be patient with yourself as you begin your journey here at GW.
