Hello!

First, a Program Note:

Unfortunately, in Friday's Next Stop, GW: Orientation Update the wrong link was included to register for your January 2024 orientation. The Orientation team apologizes for this oversight and wanted to share the correct registration link – Register Now for January 2024 Orientation.

And, for Today's Update:

We believe in the importance of creating a safe and healthy environment for all our GW community members. To help us accomplish this vision the university requires all new first-year and transfer undergraduate students to complete three mandatory trainings that will help us be more informed on topics vital to achieving our shared goal of creating a safe and inclusive environment for our faculty, staff, and students across the university.

The required online trainings include:

  • AlcoholEdu for College
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Title IX Fundamentals

These trainings, in addition to being highly interactive and engaging, are based in research around the best practices for healthy communities. As you complete these three training modules, we invite you to reach out to the many referenced resources to join the larger discussion of these topics on our campus.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, you will receive two separate emails with dedicated links to your online trainings:

  • One email will prompt you to login to a Vector LMS student account to complete the Diversity and AlcoholEdu trainings. You will need to login to Vector using your GW UserID and password.
  • The other email will provide instructions for accessing the Title IX Fundamentals training offered by the Title IX Office.

We encourage you to set time aside to complete all three trainings.

Completion of all three (3) courses is required for all incoming first-year and transfer undergraduate students by Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 11:59 pm EST.

If you do not complete all three modules, a registration hold will be placed on your student record until such time you satisfactorily complete the training. A registration hold will prevent you from being able to make any changes to your course schedule or registering for your fall 2024 classes when the registration period opens later this Spring.

  • For additional questions or concerns regarding the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion module contact the Office for Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement at [email protected].
  • For additional questions or concerns regarding the AlcoholEdu module contact the Office of Health Promotion and Education at [email protected].
  • All questions, technical or general, related to the Title IX Fundamentals for New Students module, please contact the Title IX Office at [email protected].

Thank you for your participation, and for your efforts in building a university community that is welcoming and inclusive.
