Tuesday Talks is a webinar series for new students and family members focused on acclimating you to GW resources, processes, and requirements in a live, virtual environment. Campus partners will cover topics such as how to read and pay your e-bill, how dining at GW and in D.C. works, details about the Student Health Insurance Plan, and more!

Below are our upcoming Tuesday Talks that will take place throughout the summer leading up to the start of the Fall semester. Recordings of each session will be added within a few days after the webinar takes place.
- May 14 - Orientation 101: What to Expect this Summer
Join members of the NSO team review tasks your student will need to complete this summer, what you can expect in terms of communication (student and family), and how to support your student during this transition.

- May 21 - Residential & Dining Experience at GW
Join members of the Campus Living & Residential Education team will guide you through the housing process, what to expect in residence halls, and how to support your student's transition to residential living. Plus, our Dining team will share insights on on and off-campus dining options, meal plans, dietary support, and maximizing meal plan benefits.

Hear from the Student Services Hub as they share an overview of the office, how to review financial aid packages, navigate the e-Bill system, FERPA, and more.

- June 18 - Student Support at GW
Here at GW, your student's success is our top priority. The university offers a robust support network that is dedicated to helping your student achieve their academic and personal goals and helping them navigate challenging circumstance that may arise. Join Student Support, Academic Commons, and the Office of Student Success as they discuss academic and student support resources and ways families can support their student build skills around self-awareness, self-advocacy, and resilience.

- June 25 - Supporting First-Gen Students & Their Families
Join us for a special session where our First-Generation staff members discuss the unique challenges and experiences of being the first in their families to attend college. First-generation college students are those whose parents or guardians have not completed a bachelor's degree. This event aims to provide valuable information, resources, and support to help students and their families navigate the transition into college successfully.

- July 2 - Health & Safety at GW
Before your student even steps onto campus, it is important to make a transition plan for their health, safety, and well-being needs. Join members from our Student Health Center, GW Police and Emergency Management as they discuss resources and strategies to support your student's well-being.

- July 16 - Academic Advising & Class Registration
What is academic advising? How do I register for classes? How many credits should I take? How do I create a balanced class schedule? These questions - plus many more - are on every student's mind as they prepare for class registration for the first time. Academic Advisors from the respective schools, as well as New Student Orientation, will provide an overview of the registration process and the advising opportunities available to your students. We will also share suggestions for how families can support their students as they begin their academic journey at GW.

- July 30 - Community & Belonging
A student's sense of belonging and connectedness to their community is a critical aspect of their college experience. GW has a variety of opportunities for students to engage with others and share meaningful experience. Join members of the GW community as they share about the student experience and making a plan to get the most out of our community.

- August 6 - Preview to Move In & New Student Orientation
Join members of GW's Campus Living and Residential Education discuss the move-in process, when to expect more details via email, and tips for a successful move - near or far. The New Student Orientation team will also give an overview about what your student can expect and ways to best support them.

It's official; in less than a week from now, your student will be arriving to campus! We know that families and supporters are important partners in a student's successful transition to GW. Join us in a panel discussion with other GW families as we learn more about their experiences in supporting their student and being involved with the GW Community.
